Welcome To Family Tent Shopper
For some of us, nothing quite beats the lure of pitching a tent and camping in the great outdoors when it comes to planning a family holiday. Yes, it’s all about getting some fresh air in our lungs and escaping the pressures of everyday modern life without having to spend a fortune, but I’m also sure it’s driven, however subtly, by a hard-wired primal urge to pit ourselves against nature and the elements and survive all the challenges that brings, namely feeding and sheltering our families. And in order to do that, we need the right equipment.
Tents have changed a bit since I was a youngster when our first family camping experience was in one we’d borrowed from the local scout troop. A somewhat basic affair offering absolutely no privacy, I recall it taking forever to pitch and then leaking like the proverbial sieve from both above, below and everywhere in-between. It didn’t seem to matter though, as I was well-and-truly hooked and have since enjoyed countless memorable family camping trips in all shapes and sizes of tents. I still get just as excited about camping holidays today as I did back then, which is why I want to share what I may have learned over the years when it comes to deciding on which type of tent I think will be most suitable to my requirements, such as speed of pitching for short or weekend breaks or the amount of space I’ll need. If there’s one thing I have learned, it’s to always try, if the budget will stretch that far, to get a tent that’s bigger than you reckon you might need, as you can never have enough space.
Something I just love about campsites is the camaraderie, when you get talking to people and share stories, experiences and information. You soon get to know which tents are fit for purpose and which ones don’t quite live up to expectations. And that’s what I want to share with you.
Like everything else these days, there’s so much choice it’s sometimes difficult to make a decision and once we do, we start to wonder if we’ve made the right one. At Family Tent Shopper there are no bad reviews, as I don’t think it’s my job to rubbish anyone’s product, but if you’re looking for a tent of a certain size, shape or price that you can trust to do what you want it to do, you can see on here which one to choose, as all the tents featured in this website have been recommended by fellow campers, having been pestered by my good self for information.
Not being particularly tech-savvy I’ve set up Family Tent Shopper in a very basic format but, because of that, it’s very simple to navigate so I hope it’s all you’ll need to see what’s what out there and to help you make the right decision.
I do hope Family Tent Shopper helps you get what you need to make the most of those magical days and nights in the fresh and glorious open air with your family, building up truly wonderful memories of camping holidays that will remain with you all for ever.
